Parking

• All vehicles must be parked in the large parking lot. 

• During weekdays, we ask that cars are parked along the fence (opposite the barrels) so painters can paint the exterior of the tasting room 

• Feel free to drop off your art gear by using our extended driveway around the buildings, but proceed to park in the large parking lot at the front

Painting at Galer Estate

• Painting Dates: May 23 - May 26

• Time: Any time (dawn to dusk)

• Entry Cost: $40 to be paid online

• No restrictions on media, size, or shape of the paintings

• Entry is open to anyone who enjoys painting, but must be 21 yrs or older

 

Competition & Art Show

• ART SHOW Date: May 26- May 28

• Art Drop off: May 25 - 26 | Time is TBD

• Artists must drop off by 5pm on Friday, May 26

• Competition officially closes at 5pm on Friday, May 26

• Judges: TBD 

• Paintings may be taken home for studio editing before judgment

• Framing is preferred, but not required 

• Galer Estate will provide art screens, art hooks and tags.

• 1-4 paintings from the Plein Air may be selected by the artist for judging

• Prizes will be awarded for: 

  • Best in Show - $200

  • Most Seasonally Inspired - $100

  • Most Inventive - $100

 

Reception & Awards

• Artist Reception: Sunday, May 28 | 3pm

• Location: Tank Room | Main Tasting Room at Galer Estate

• Winners will be announced at 3pm 

• All are welcome! Light refreshments will be available with Galer Estate wine available for purchase

• Please bring friends and family, but we encourage guests to be 21+ years old

 

Artwork Sales

• All proceeds of artwork sales are handled by the individual artists

• Galer Estate will not take payment for artwork

• We would recommend creating online checkout options - Square QR code, Venmo, PayPal, etc

• Artwork may be picked up/taken down by the artist (or the buyer) at the conclusion of the reception

• All art must be picked up by 7pm on Sunday, May 28

 

Helpful Tips for Painting at the Winery

• The small stone building by the vineyard will be open throughout painting days for artists 

  • access to water, coffee, seating and restroom​

• Painting can take place at any time (dawn to dusk) during May 23 - 26

• Bring a chair, table, easel

• Bring all art supplies

• Painting can only be done in the grass or gravel - artists cannot paint on the wooden decks

• Bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and water bottle 

• Customers will be present on May 25 & 26

• Artists will receive 1 voucher for a glass of Galer Estate wine
